Bird guard is installed along the eaves of the roofline normally in conjunction with your eaves protector tray, these are ideal if your roof tiles are double roman or pantile as these tiles leave gaps for birds and other vermin to enter your eaves causing potential damage. When fitting your bird guard ensure the spikes are forced forward when installing your tiles and not backwards.
